Job Summary:


Provide quality and efficiency to customers who prefer face to face interaction with the bank. This position will have a through understanding of the customer’s financial needs and be able to effectively communicate appropriate products and services matching the customer’s needs. Support all daily operations of the branch, including timely and efficient completion of client transactions, while maintaining accurate records and through proper handling of all monies assigned.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


• Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, i.e., cash handling, common customer maintenance requests, etc.

• Normally receives detailed instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments

• Accepts and accurately processes all financial transactions.

• Maintains responsibility for a cash drawer and follows proper balancing procedures.

• Provides excellent customer service by providing answers and assistance for customers’ questions and concerns.

• Cross sells other bank services and refers customers to other departments as appropriate.

• Reviews and maintains knowledge of products, fees and policies and stays current on offerings and is able to make product suggestions with assistance.

• Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibility. Keeps up to date with regulation changes.

• Follows all aspects of branch security in accordance with Farmers and Merchants Bank’s security policy.

• Responsible for positive community relations in the branch market area.

• Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual required compliance training.

• Complies with regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to follow.

• Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Farmers and Merchants Bank values of community banking.

• Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.

• In the performance of the respective tasks and duties, the employee is expected to successfully perform quality work within deadlines with or without supervision, interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers; work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments and work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.

• May perform other duties as assigned.

• Up to 2 years of customer service experience.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively.

• Effective problem solving and decision-making abilities.

• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

• Team player with an energetic positive attitude.

• Excellent organization and time management skills.

• PC proficient; Competent with Microsoft Office - Windows, Word and Excel.

In the performance of respective tasks and duties, the employee is expected to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. While performing duties the employee is required to sit, talk, stand, hear, lift 50 lbs., and may be required to work evenings and/or weekends, attend off-site meetings and/or to travel using their personal vehicle.

• Must possess ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high degree of accuracy.

• Must possess ability to enter numerical data on a computer with speed and accuracy; and should have a good mathematical aptitude.

• Must be able to lift/push/pull and/or carry 50lbs.

• This job may be very sedentary in nature.
